If you're looking for fun, entertaining, and educational things to do in the Greensboro, NC area, you've come to the right place. Our Weekend Guide, and sometimes weekday :-), is packed with a variety of our favorite handpicked events and activities that we want to share with you! 

1. Historic Gate City Trolley Tour

When: Fri, Feb 23 at 1:00pm and 3:30pm

Where: Departs from 4 Different Locations Around Downtown Greensboro

Allow up to 2 hours to enjoy some time with us on this comprehensive history tour aboard a classy, sassy, and comfortable Trolley. Whether you were raised in Greensboro or are visiting from afar, or even just passing thru, this is a great way to see the sights and hear the tales thru decades of popular landmarks, architecture, and history galore! These daily departures from 2-3 downtown locations include the comforts of air-conditioning, cushioned seats, an on-board Guide, and a stellar courteous Driver. Likely a brief stop is included.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance, or by calling 336-722-7777. Neither bathrooms nor seatbelts are available on the Trolley. Beverages welcome but no glass or alcohol please.

NOTE: This tour requires a minimum equivalent of 5 adult passengers (max.13) to run. Please book your desired party size (recruit friends/family), and we will reach out within 24 hours of the start time to let you know if the minimum has not been reached for a refund or to reschedule.

2. Hello Kitty Cafe Truck

When: Sat, Feb 24, 10:00am-7:00pm

Where: Friendly Center, 3110 Kathleen Ave, Greensboro, NC

Hello Greensboro! The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will be returning to Friendly Center on Saturday, 2/24! Come visit us at the crosswalk between Sephora and Hallmark from 10am-7pm and pick up some supercute treats and merch, while supplies last. See you there! 

3. GSO Minecraft Club at iCode

When: Sat, Feb 24, 11:00am-1:00pm & 1:30-3:30pm

Where: iCode Greensboro, 3712 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC

Hey parents and young gamers! Get ready for an epic adventure as we launch our very own Minecraft Club for Kids! đŸš€đŸŒˆ

📅 Dates: Every other Saturday, beginning January 24.
🕕 Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
📍 Location: iCode Greensboro, 3712 Lawndale Drive, Unit C, Greensboro, NC 27455 (Next to The Fresh Market)

🌍 Explore: A fun, social, and safe way for young Minecraft fanatics to dive into a pixelated world while exploring vast landscapes, hidden caves, and exciting biomes. Kids will get to Unleash their creativity a they build and craft their own unique creations to share with an audience of your peers. And while the kids play, parents are welcome to hang out, run errands, socialize, or do whatever they want on their own while the kids have Minecraft fun!
🤝 Collaborate: Join forces with fellow young gamers to tackle challenges, embark on quests, and collaborate on massive building projects. Teamwork makes the dream work!
🎮 Gameplay Challenges: Test your skills with fun and exciting gameplay challenges. From survival mode adventures to creative building contests, there's something for every Minecraft enthusiast!
🏆 Prizes: Compete for awesome in-game prizes and bragging rights as the ultimate Minecraft champion!
🍕 Snacks and Socializing: Enjoy some delicious snacks and make new friends who share your passion for Minecraft. It's not just a club; it's a community!

This event is tailored for kids aged 7-11, ensuring a safe and enjoyable gaming experience for everyone.

$25 per two-hour session. Includes full computer set up and snack to enjoy.

4. An Intimate Evening with David Foster and Katharine McPhee

When: Fri, Feb 23 at 8:00pm

Where: Steven Tanger Center, 300 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC

An intimate evening with David Foster and Katharine McPhee is just that: an intimate evening with one of the biggest musical forces of our time. The 16-time Grammy award winning writer/producer performs songs that he wrote or produced from his four decades of hits and includes fascinating storytelling about the songs, artists and moments of his life.  Some of the songs David and Katharine perform include Celine Dion’s “The Power Of Love,” Whitney Houston’s “The Bodyguard”, Earth Wind and Fire’s “After The Love Is Gone,” Chicago’s ”You’re The Inspiration”, Josh Groban’s “You Raised Me Up,”  Natalie Cole’s “Unforgettable”  and many, many more.  They also perform a selection of hit songs that are beloved by Katharine’s fans. 
Tickets: $35 and up, plus applicable fees

5. After School Film Camp by TAB Arts Center

When: Fri, Feb 23, 4:00-6:00pm & Sat, Feb 24, 12:00-2:00pm

Where: Peeler Recreation Center, 1300 Sykes Ave, Greensboro, NC

Calling all young creatives aged 12-17 to the stage of imagination and storytelling at TAB Arts Center's After School Film Camp, starring on Fridays and Saturdays! This is your child's ticket to the thrilling world of filmmaking, where ideas ignite and dreams take flight.
Get ready for a preview of the diverse filmmaking skills we'll cover at our After School Film Camp:
-Scriptwriting Mastery: Your child will develop their writing, turning original ideas into gripping stories with guidance from seasoned writers.
-Directing Techniques: They'll step into the role of a director, translating words into visual stories, supported by our expert film coaches.
-Acting Workshops: With the help of professional acting coaches, your teen will learn to express themselves and portray diverse characters with confidence.
-Film Techniques: Our technical team will teach them the nuances of cinematography, empowering them to craft visually stunning scenes.
Guidance comes from professional filmmakers who are as passionate about teaching as they are about cinema. They'll share their expertise and mentor your child every step of the way, ensuring that each participant gains practical skills with industry-standard equipment.

6. Salsa Dancing Class

When: Thu, Feb 22 at 6:00pm

Where: Summerfield Farms, 3203 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Summerfield, NC 

Get ready to spice up your dance moves at our Salsa Class hosted by Maria Gonzalez on February 22nd at the Barn! In celebration of National Margarita Day, your ticket includes one margarita to get the party started.
Whether you're flying solo or bringing a partner, join us for an evening of rhythm, fun, and sizzling salsa instruction. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to move and groove!
Attire: Come dressed in what you're most comfortable in to move around the dance floor! Some guests have worn their best heels while others prefer sneakers. All are appropriate for this fun class!

7. Central Carolina Boat Show & Fishing Expo

When: Fri, Feb 23 at 10am-8pm; Sat, Feb 24 at 9am-6pm; Sun, Feb 25 at 10am-5pm

Where: Greensboro Coliseum Special Event Center, 1921 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 

This is the Largest Boating Event in Central North Carolina with 16 Marine Dealers from Across the Region. The Triad’s Only Boat and Fishing show opens February 23rd for 3 big days. Wakeboarding, Tubing, Fishing Tackle, Seminars, Kayaks, Bass Boats, Ski Boat
