If you're looking for fun, entertaining, and educational things to do in the Greensboro, NC area, you've come to the right place. Our Weekend Guide is packed with a variety of our favorite handpicked events and activities that we want to share with you! 

1. Historic Gate City Trolley Tour

When: Fri, Sep 22 at 1:00pm and 3:30pm

Where: Departs from 4 Different Locations Around Downtown Greensboro

Allow up to 2 hours to enjoy some time with us on this comprehensive history tour aboard a classy, sassy, and comfortable Trolley. Whether you were raised in Greensboro or are visiting from afar, or even just passing thru, this is a great way to see the sights and hear the tales thru decades of popular landmarks, architecture, and history galore! These daily departures from 2-3 downtown locations include the comforts of air-conditioning, cushioned seats, an on-board Guide, and a stellar courteous Driver. Likely a brief stop is included.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance, or by calling 336-722-7777. Neither bathrooms nor seatbelts are available on the Trolley. Beverages welcome but no glass or alcohol please.

NOTE: This tour requires a minimum equivalent of 5 adult passengers (max.13) to run. Please book your desired party size (recruit friends/family), and we will reach out within 24 hours of the start time to let you know if the minimum has not been reached for a refund or to reschedule.

2. Daughters & Donuts

When: Sun, Sep 24, 2:00-5:00pm

Where: Summerfield Farms, 3203 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Summerfield, NC

Celebrate National Daughters Day by spending time with your daughter & enjoying donuts together on the farm! Duck Donuts’ Duck Truck will be onsite at The Well Truck from 2-5 PM. This event is free to attend.
Pups are welcome on a leash!
*No outside food or beverage is permitted on the property
1-6 PM | Hummingbird Food Truck
2-5 PM | Duck Donuts’ Duck Truck
3-5 PM | Live music by Kirby Heard
3-4 PM | Shania the Highland Cow

3. See to Believe Gala

When: Fri, Sep 22 at 6:00pm

Where: Greensboro Science Center, 4301 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC

Save the Date!! The See to Believe Gala returns on September 22, 2023!
Attire: Cocktail Casual | Must be 21+ to attend
Attendees 21 and older are invited to dance under the stars in our zoo and under the sea in the Wiseman Aquarium with the return of our annual See to Believe Gala.
Enjoy high-energy show band, Sleeping Booty, playing a mix of old and new hits or sway to the melodies of steel drummer, Tracy Thornton, in the aquarium. Heavy hors d’oeuvres from Pepper Moon Catering, a variety of premium beer and wine, and a See to Believe signature cocktail will be available as guests roam, discover, and celebrate the magic of the Greensboro Science Center. Create memories in our photo booth, participate in the online Silent Auction, or take your chances at winning a premium bourbon or a pair of diamond earrings in our Bourbon Pull and Champagne Pour.
Join us for a fun night to celebrate the Science Center’s newest exhibits and milestones–as well as our vision for the future. More event details coming soon! 

4. Family Fishing Evenings

When: Fri, Sep 22, 5:00-7:00pm

Where: Lake Higgins Marina, 4235 Hamburg Hill Rd, Summerfield, NC

This is a catch and release fishing program designed for people of all ages. We will provide the bait, poles, and chairs if necessary and all you have to do is have fun! We will set up around the Education Pond at Lake Higgins which is located immediately to the left of the Marina office.
Registration is required for this program. Each person that plans to fish must sign up separately. Participants must be willing to put on worms and take fish off hooks. Staff will be present to assist.

5. Frute at the Crown at Carolina Theater (w/ White Toledo)

When: Sat, Sep 23 at 8:00pm

Where: The Crown at the Carolina, 310 S Greene St, Greensboro, NC

Tickets are $8 Advance and $10 At the Door

Ticket Commissions: $3 processing fee plus sales tax


Frute is a six-piece outfit that that balances experimentation with colorful grooves. The band offers unique flavors of funky psychedelia for your dancing pleasure.


White Toledo is a new alt rock band hailing from North Carolina. Known for their captivating blend of new age fullness and vintage rock charm, White Toledo has carved a unique niche for themselves in the new contemporary music scene.

6. Estate & Vintage Jewelry Event

When: Sep 20 at 10:00am - Sep 23 at 6:00pm

Where: Schiffman's Jewelers, 811 Friendly Center Rd, Greensboro, NC 

Join us for our Estate and Vintage Jewelry Event from September 20-23. This is your best opportunity to shop the largest collection of vintage, antique, and estate jewelry.

7. CHICAGO the Musical

When: Sep 19-24

Where: Tanger Center, 300 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC

8. Jurassic Quest

When: Sep 22-Sep 24

Where: Greensboro Coliseum, 1921 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC
