If you're looking for fun, entertaining and educational things to do in the Greensboro, NC area, you've come to the right place. Our Weekend Guide is packed with a variety of our favorite events and activities that we want to share with you! 

1. Historic Gate City Trolley Tour

When: Fri, Jan 21 at 10:30am and 1:00pm

Where: Departs from the History Museum next to LeBauer Park in Downtown Greensboro

Enjoy some time with us on this comprehensive history tour aboard a classy, sassy, and comfortable Trolley. Whether you were raised in Greensboro or are visiting from afar, or even just passing thru, this is a great way to see the sights and hear the tales thru decades of popular landmarks, architecture, and history galore! These departures are on Mon/Wed/Fri @ 10:30am and 1:00pm. Downtown Greensboro local Trolley Tours occur with the comforts of air-conditioning, cushioned seats, an on-board Guide, and a stellar courteous Driver.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance, or by calling 336-722-7777. Neither bathrooms nor seatbelts are available on the Trolley. Beverages welcome but no glass or alcohol please. This tour can accommodate maximum of 8 passengers to practice social distancing aboard our Trolley. Also available for families, neighbors, etc most "anytime". 

NOTE: This tour requires a minimum of four passengers to run. Please book your desired party size (recruit friends/family), and we will reach out within 24 hours of the start time to let you know if the minimum has not been reached for a refund or to reschedule.

2. Seminar: Garden Design 101

When: Sat, Jan 22 at 10:00am

Where: New Garden Landscaping & Nursery, 3811 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC

Ann will cover the basics on how to plan your flower garden for a pleasing look, easier maintenance, and healthier plants.
This Seminar is FREE.

3. Greensboro Opera Presents Porgy and Bess Starring Rhiannon Giddens

When: Fri, Jan 21 at 7:30pm and Sun, Jan 23 at 2:00pm

Where: Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, 300 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC

The Greensboro Opera will present Porgy and Bess at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts on January 21 & 23, 2022.

Porgy and Bess, the first event booking announcement for the Tanger Center, will feature Grammy-award winning musical artist and Greensboro native Rhiannon Giddens as Bess.
Tickets: Seats Starting at $40 + ticket fees

4. An Evening with Leo Kottke & special guest Dave King (Bad Plus)

When: Sat, Jan 22, 7:00-11:00pm

5. Aquariam Adventure

When: Jan 22-23, 1:15-2:00pm

Where: Greensboro Science Center, 4301 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC

Have you ever wanted to see our Shark Reef tank from above, hand out a special treat to our cownose stingrays or feed our seahorses? Now you can! Join us for an Aquarium Adventure where you'll go behind the scenes of the Wiseman Aquarium to learn how we bring a world-class aquarium to the center of North Carolina!
Spaces are limited. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Check availability and see age restrictions and rules online.
 

6. Sunday Bruch @ Magnolia

When: Sun, Jan 23, 10:00am-3:00pm

Where: The Historic Magnolia House, 442 Gorrell St, Greensboro, NC

Join us at the table on Sundays for food, fellowship, and fun with a side of Soul!
Every Sunday 10a-3pm

7. S'mores on the Farm with Goats

When: Jan 5-30, 10:00am-6:00pm

Where: Spring Haven Farm, 5306 Homer Ruffin Rd, Chapel Hill, NC

Get outside this January and come visit all the animals here at Spring Haven Farm. The farm will be open and safe to visit! Warm up by our firepits with a one of a kind not-your-average S’more kit. Enjoy the rest of the farm before or after - we have tons of animals looking for snuggles and snacks.
Meet and feed all the animals like Lola the pig, Annie the Donkey, Wilbur and Orville the Highland cows, and lots of really cute goats.
You have the choice to schedule your arrival time between 10:00am and 4:00pm Wednesday - Sunday. Each hour has a limited number of tickets available. Once on the farm you can stay as long as you like. The farm is open until 6:00pm. The Farm is all set up to allow for social distancing and there are plenty of hand sanitizer stations and hand washing areas.

Each kit makes 3 S'mores
Traditional - Marshmallow, Hershey Milk Chocolate, and Graham crackers $5
S’moreo - Oreo Cookies, marshmallows, and chocolate $7
Fluffernutter - Recee’s chocolate, with marshmallows and graham crackers $7
Caramel - Ghirardelli Caramel Milk Chocolate Snowman, Marshmallow, Graham cracker $8
Mint - Ghirardelli Mint Dark Chocolate Squares, Marshmallow, Graham cracker $8
Bacon - Maple Bacon & Dark Chocolate, with marshmallows and graham crackers $9
Additional Information:
-Arrival times are scheduled to limit the number of people on the farm.
-Once you are on the farm you may stay as long as you like.
-Events run rain, shine… or Snow!
-Tickets are non-refundable but can be exchanged for another future event or gift card if needed.
-Please do not bring your pet to the farm.
-Get your tickets early. Events sell out quickly!

8. Greensboro Laughs with Ryan Bender

When: Sat, Jan 22 at 7:30pm

Where: The Idiot Box, 503 N Greene St, Greensboro, NC 

Come laugh away your long forgotten New Year’s resolutions with host, Ryan Bender!
Ryan Bender is joined by local favorites: Jacob Rice, Jason Seabrooks, Tony Rodriguez, Madison Bergstedt, Alex Stone and Darah Willey.

9. Sip & Slay Yoga

When: Sun, Jan 23, 11:00am-12:00pm

Where: Oden Brewing Company, 802 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 

Join us every Sunday Morning for Sip & Slay Yoga with Ashley 🧘‍♀️
Class starts at 11am and is $10 + includes a post yoga drink of choice.

10. Doc & Jim 

When: Sun, Jan 23, 11:00am-12:00pm

Where: Lewis & Elm, 600 S Elm St, Greensboro, NC 

Taking inspiration from the great Django Reinhardt, Jim Carson and Doc Fribush play traditional tunes with frequent modern twists. Toe-tapping and finger-snapping, their frequent live performances transport listeners back to 1930's Paris!
